Agentless backup of anything reachable via SFTP/SSH with Bacula Community — no agent on the remote host, no stale mountpoints, no kernel dependencies. Works with switches, routers, firewalls, NAS, cloud SFTP services (AWS Transfer, Hetzner Storage Box) and any Linux/Unix server with SSH enabled.
What it does
- Truly agentless — SFTP/SSH in pure userspace (Rust ssh2 / libssh2) — nothing to install on the remote host, no FUSE/NFS/CIFS, no mounts hanging the FD.
- Network gear + NAS + cloud — Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, Arista, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS, AWS Transfer, Azure Blob SFTP, Hetzner Storage Box, cPanel, etc.
- Full / Incremental / Differential — Native Bacula levels via mtime comparison; metadata fidelity (ACL, UID/GID, timestamps, symlinks); glob include/exclude filters.
- Production hardening — Host-key verification against known_hosts, key auth (ed25519/RSA/ECDSA) or agent forwarding, per-operation timeouts — never blocks the daemon.

Quick install
Pacote RPM (EL9), DEB ou PKGBUILD (Arch). Após instalar, gere chave ed25519 em /etc/bacula/.ssh/, distribua a chave pública aos hosts remotos e adicione o Plugin= podheitor-sftp ao FileSet.Ready to switch?
